Matheola is the primordial name of Matera and this is how this model takes shape, inspired by the taste of the land where it was born. It is an important sofa that allows you to live the comfort experience together with the whole family thanks to a wide and welcoming seat and the possibility to increase its depth, together with the height of the backrest, through a mechanism that repositions the backrest towards the back. Characterised by a modern and essential look, Matheola is an extremely versatile model that offers both fixed and corner solutions.

Structure: Pinewood, beechwood, multilayer covered with polyurethane foam covered with 100% polyester layer, additionally wrapped with thermo-bonded textile fabric coupled with cloth.

Seat padding: Seat cushions in diversified density ecological polyurethane foam, covered with a feather mix thin mattress, additionally wrapped with thermo-bonded textile fabric coupled with cloth.

Production period: 2 months.

The product has a 2-year warranty.

Liborio Vincenzo Calia, Calia Italia’s founder, was born in 1926. He started attending an artisan workshop when he was very young. There he learnt how to make carpentry works, realizing different types of objects made of wood, from useful tools to works of outstanding workmanship to decorate any house.In 1944, when he was only 18, he started his own business and in 1965 he started a research project that would end up in designing and producing a single kind of products, conceived to make people feel good: upholstered furniture.Since then, Calia Italia has been manufacturing sofas with an accessible, democratic design with care and attention to details in Matera to reach any place in the world.
