This is a sofa from the Italian manufacturer Calia Italia.

Designed by Daniele della Porta, Dafne is a modern design sofa with rounded lines that can change the look without compromising. Designed for living spaces, it can be combined with Milla for even more convenience. During the day, ‘Dafne’ is a comfortable place to spend hours in perfect relaxation, and at night, the ‘Dafne’ sofa turns into a cozy bed with a comfortable 13 cm high mattress in a few simple movements. The eco-friendly polyurethane foam mattress is ideal for relaxing. In the larger version of the bed, it is inconspicuous (it can reach a length of 208 cm with a 160 cm mattress), and in the relaxation version it is roomy.

Liborio Vincenzo Calia, Calia Italia’s founder, was born in 1926. He started attending an artisan workshop when he was very young. There he learnt how to make carpentry works, realizing different types of objects made of wood, from useful tools to works of outstanding workmanship to decorate any house.In 1944, when he was only 18, he started his own business and in 1965 he started a research project that would end up in designing and producing a single kind of products, conceived to make people feel good: upholstered furniture.Since then, Calia Italia has been manufacturing sofas with an accessible, democratic design with care and attention to details in Matera to reach any place in the world.
