Gianduia couch

“Gianduia” is inspired by Gianduiotti chocolate, which perfectly reflects the round and soft shape of the sofa. The backrests and armrests feature decorative seams that give the furniture exclusivity. The seat is low and deep enough for enveloping comfort. The construction of the sofa is made of beech, pinewood, and veneer, covered with polyurethane foam.

There are three possible dimensions:

Mini dimensions: length 208 cm, height 82 cm, depth 100 cm, seat height 40 cm, seat depth 61 cm

Medium dimensions: length 228 cm, height 82 cm, depth 100 cm, seat height 40 cm, seat depth 61 cm

Maxi dimensions: length 248 cm, height 82 cm, depth 100 cm, seat height 40 cm, seat depth 61 cm

Liborio Vincenzo Calia, Calia Italia’s founder, was born in 1926. He started attending an artisan workshop when he was very young. There he learnt how to make carpentry works, realizing different types of objects made of wood, from useful tools to works of outstanding workmanship to decorate any house.In 1944, when he was only 18, he started his own business and in 1965 he started a research project that would end up in designing and producing a single kind of products, conceived to make people feel good: upholstered furniture.Since then, Calia Italia has been manufacturing sofas with an accessible, democratic design with care and attention to details in Matera to reach any place in the world.
