“Dragées” is inspired by Gianduiotti chocolate, but more structured than the “Gianduia” sofa. This furniture has a high and soft backrest and armrests, which ensures special comfort. The elegant sofa model has a very thin base that is slightly raised from the ground, and the design is enriched with decorative seams. The construction of the sofa is made of beech, pinewood, and veneer, covered with polyurethane foam.

There are three possible dimensions:

Mini dimensions: length 205 cm, height 80 cm, depth 103 cm, seat height 43 cm, seat depth 58 cm

Medium dimensions: length 225 cm, height 80 cm, depth 103 cm, seat height 43 cm, seat depth 58 cm

Maxi dimensions: length 245 cm, height 80 cm, depth 103 cm, seat height 43 cm, seat depth 58 cm

Liborio Vincenzo Calia, Calia Italia’s founder, was born in 1926. He started attending an artisan workshop when he was very young. There he learnt how to make carpentry works, realizing different types of objects made of wood, from useful tools to works of outstanding workmanship to decorate any house.In 1944, when he was only 18, he started his own business and in 1965 he started a research project that would end up in designing and producing a single kind of products, conceived to make people feel good: upholstered furniture.Since then, Calia Italia has been manufacturing sofas with an accessible, democratic design with care and attention to details in Matera to reach any place in the world.
